Since childhood, rock musician Adam Case has heard the voices of spirits, gods and the dead. It seems not only mortals but supernatural beings are drawn to Case's music. Seeking to exploit that power is Pain, the right-hand corpse of Desire from the pages of The Sandman, who has decided that Case would make the perfect tool for his apocalyptic purposes.
