Ultraverse Year Zero: Death of the Squad Comic

The formation of the Squad is revealed in this issue, as Hardcase, Starburst, D.J. Blast and Forsa gain their ultra powers and show them to the media. The public recognition unites the four people to advance their careers and to do some good in the world. Meanwhile, other people discover their ultra abilities but are able to keep out of the public eye. Meanwhile, Rex Mundi has his eyes on the four members of the Squad and informs NM-E that it needs to destroy them.<br/>In a backup story, Mantra and her daughter Evie go to a ceremony honoring Starburst, who remains in a coma. Mantra takes Evie to see Starburst in the hospital room when a mad woman enters the hospital room with a bomb attached to her chest. She explains that her son, a police officer, was killed by NM-E in the same battle that devastated the Squad but gets no recognition. Mantra stops the woman before she can hurt anyone.
